Film Fridays – Tim & Ashley

Since I’m shooting more on film these days, I decided to start a “Film Fridays” series so that I’ll (hopefully) remember to share the scans I get back. ;) Today, I’m featuring images from an amazing vintage-inspired session with Tim and Ashley! If you follow me on Facebook, you’ve already seen a couple of images from this fun session. I photographed this session primarily with my digital camera, but used film for a few frames at the end of the session. Check back next week for the digitals!

Kristi & Tye – Temecula Engagement Session

Kristi and Tye recently got engaged and I met up with them at a local winery for their engagement session. The winery also has its very own orange grove, and we enjoyed wandering through the beautiful orange trees on the property. Kristi’s son tagged along for their session, and I was able to take a few family portraits of everyone as well. Kristi and Tye are getting married next May in Hawai’i, and I’m sure their wedding is going to be just gorgeous!

Fun note: The lovely blue dress that Kristi is wearing in some of the photos is the same dress she wore when Tye popped the question. :)

Kim & Ivan – Lake Hodges Engagement Session

Getting to hang out with these two while photographing some casual portraits before their upcoming wedding was perfect! Though both Kim and Ivan are from Southern California, they met while in training in my hometown of San Antonio. Both are outdoors enthusiasts, so meeting up at beautiful Lake Hodges made perfect sense for this session! It was fun to chat about upcoming road trip and camping plans to see National Parks across the southwestern states, while exploring the hiking trails of Escondido. I so look forward to capturing their big day!

Kay & Charlie – Dallas Anniversary Session

Kay and Charlie recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary! While I was in Texas last month, we met up in Dallas for a fun session around their neighborhood and at White Rock Lake Park with their adorable pup, Lullaby. The sunset came extremely fast that evening–we were all hoping to spend a little more time on the lake! It was a great session nonetheless.

Emotion – A Surprise Proposal in La Jolla

Today, I’m blogging with a purpose: to showcase some emotion. :)

I recently joined a group of photographer bloggers who pick a theme for their posts, and this week’s theme is emotion! Photography is so powerful because we are able to use it to capture fleeting moments and emotions to last longer than a lifetime. Almost a year ago, I was contacted by a handsome guy looking for a photographer to film his surprise proposal to his girlfriend (now wife)! Of course I jumped at the opportunity. You can see more from the proposal here; here are a handful of images to show lovely Amanda’s emotions that evening.
