The Hord Family – Oceanside Pier and Beach

It’s always so great to hear back from families who I have photographed in the past, and getting a message from Jill was no exception! Not only is she a fellow photographer and Marine wife, but she just got out of the Marine Corps herself, about a year ago. I said it in my last post featuring her family and I’ll say it again here.. She really is a super woman!

Meeting up with Jill and her family on the beach here in Oceanside was a true treat! Here are some favorites from our evening together.

The Hatfield Family – Oceanside Pier and Beach

The Hatfield girls are some of the sweetest rock collectors I’ve ever met. Both A and M were seriously interested in keeping their findings safe through our session together, so I was happy when they trusted me to hold onto them for a few minutes at a time. These gorgeous redheads were so fun to meet and hang out with at the beach!

Paul & Rich – Japanese Friendship Garden Wedding

Have you ever been to a wedding where everything just feels right? You can tell that the two tying the knot love each other so much and both had been waiting for this day their entire lives? The support from the families involved is clearly evident and the day goes so smoothly that you’re afraid to sneeze, causing the event’s only ripple?

Paul and Rich’s wedding day was just like that.

Arriving at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, guests were in for a true treat: a gorgeous, love-filled ceremony and a partying reception to last the night. When Rich sang his vows to Paul, there was hardly a dry eye in the garden, and the love didn’t stop there. Paul and Rich’s celebration was simply perfect.

A huge congratulations go to Paul and Rich! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day!

The C Family 2013 – Oceanside Pier and Beach

Watching this family grow has been a joy for me over the past couple of years. Jenifer first asked me to capture a maternity session with her and Nick, I photographed little C as a newborn, then I photographed Nick’s homecoming from his last deployment, which is when he met little C for the first time! It’s hard to believe that the newborn session happened about a year ago, and we’re back today with a family session to celebrate C’s first birthday!

Hearing Jenifer talk about this session in advance was so exciting! I could tell how eager she was to capture this time in her family’s life. We decided on a last-minute location change from a spot up in Orange County to Oceanside Pier and Beach and I couldn’t be happier with the images. Little C had not been to the beach before, and his expression as he ate a little sand for the first time is priceless!

The Riemann Family

I was tremendously honored when my neighbor and fellow photographer, Ashley, contacted me to photograph her family this fall. We set a date what seemed like years ago and I anxiously awaited their amazing family session on Oceanside Pier and the surrounding beach.
