San Diego Shooting Group – Old Town

Hi all!

Last month, the San Diego Shooting Group got together in Old Town San Diego to photograph a Marine and his gorgeous bride. These two had just been married for two months! Below are some of my favorites, including a “behind the scenes” shot!

The fabulous Kammi Long provided the hair and make-up artistry for this shoot. She did a wonderful job, don’t you think?!

A huge thank you goes out to Karlee and Dylan for joining us on this warm afternoon for some photo fun, and to Kammi for doing such a lovely job on Karlee’s hair and make-up! And another thank you to the photographers who came to practice. :)

What is the San Diego Shooting Group? We’re a casual group with photographers of all sorts of levels of experience, who get together every other month to practice our craft. If you’re a San Diego-based photographer looking for a fun group to get out and shoot with, feel free to email me, facebook me, or tweet me so I can let you know about everything we have planned! We get together every other month, so I’ll be scheduling the next event for sometime in December.

Laura + Chris – Levyland Estates Wedding

Laura and Chris were so laid back on their wedding day that only the bridal gown gave away the nuptials that were happening. The gentlemen spent the morning hanging out near the beach while the ladies glamorized a short distance away. Both the ceremony and reception took place at Carlsbad’s Levyland Estates, a property that juts out into a lagoon right off the gleaming Pacific.

Thank you to Aimee Westcott of Captured by Aimee for allowing me to capture this gorgeous southern California couple with her on their big day!

Lauren

Ashley + JP – Rancho Santa Fe Wedding

I’m so excited to share this one image from yesterday’s wedding at a private estate in Rancho Santa Fe! I shot this wedding as an associate photographer with Captured by Aimee, so I can’t wait to see how Aimee puts her magic touch on all of the photos! I’ll be sharing more later!

Kaci and Jhonny – Mission Beach Women’s Club Wedding

Check out this amazing wedding I shot with Aimee Westcott of Captured by Aimee in Mission Beach. I first met up with the groom as he was getting ready with his guys, and saw him head off on his beach cruiser to await his stunning bride at the ceremony location right on the beach. Then I joined up with Aimee and the girls before we headed down to the beach ourselves.

The ceremony was short and incredibly sweet. Both Kaci and Jhonny had written their own vows, and Kaci read hers to Jhonny in both English and Spanish. The sky was overcast as the ceremony took place, but the clouds opened up as Kaci and Jhonny were announced as husband and wife. It was an incredible sight! We were able to spend some time taking portraits around Mission Beach and the bay before heading into the reception at the Mission Beach Women’s Club.

Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Sadaf and Bryan – Nixon Library Wedding

Check out this gorgeous wedding I shot with Aimee Westcott of Captured by Aimee up at the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, CA! We drove up early, checked out the venue, then headed to Polly’s Pies for lunch (and pie, of course!) before heading back to the library to start our day.

I began by hanging out with Bryan and his groomsmen as they got dressed for the day.

Then I headed over to meet up with Aimee and the bride as she was getting ready.

What a gorgeous bride!

Sadaf and Bryan chose to see each other before the ceremony, so Aimee and I arranged a meeting for the two of them on the lawn behind the Library. Bryan was anxious to see his bride!

We also gathered the bridal party for a quick group shot before the ceremony started!

The beautiful ceremony took place on a lawn between the Library and the Museum buildings. The Mother of the Bride took her hand as she was walked down the aisle to meet her groom.

All of the details were carefully crafted by Sadaf, with the help of her sisters and friends! They were impeccable!

Congratulations, Sadaf and Bryan!

Lauren
