Film Friday – San Diego County Fair

The Fair is back! The Fair is back! If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know about my love of the County Fair. Luckily for me (and the rest of San Diego), the San Diego County Fair is back for the year! It opened last Friday and will be open through July 5. Here are some fun senior portraits taken on Fuji 400H using by Hasselblad!

Kristin by Candlelight

I jumped at the chance to photograph beautiful Kristin with fellow photographers Dawn Nash and Cindy Palmer last month! Dawn had some amazing candelabras that she wanted to use for a session, so we got together for some photo fun! Here are some of the images I captured on film. We started before the sun sank into the horizon, then moved onto the candle-lit portion once the sunlight was gone. The candle images here were rated at 1600 and I pushed the roll two stops while developing. :)

Film Friday – A Lifestyle Family Session

A couple weeks ago, I got to spend time with my friend, Amy, and her fun kiddos for an afternoon of playtime! They read, put together a puzzle, took some photos with a fun toy camera, and practiced spelling inside, and played with bubbles, rode a roller coaster, and kicked a ball around outside. Little brother B even showed off his counting skills by counting from 1 to 20, then backward from 20 to 1! Capturing these fun “anytime” moments at their home was such a blast!

Long Exposures

What set out to be a nighttime astrophotography adventure with the San Diego Shooting Group turned into a fun, nighttime long-exposure adventure when clouds foiled our plans. Luckily, our beautiful model was willing to sit still, out in the cold, for about 30 seconds at a time, so we got some fun long exposures with her after the sun went down!

Anna – Virginia Maternity Portraits

I met beautiful Anna while at a retreat for film photographers earlier this month. She is five months pregnant and happily allowed me to capture a few portraits of her while we had some down-time. She is an incredible photographer, so be sure to check out her work here!

The rectangular images were photographed on 35mm Portra 160 using a Nikon F100 and a 50mm lens. The square format images were photographed on 120 Portra 400 using a Hasselblad 500c/m and a 50mm lens. They were all developed and scanned by North Coast Photographic Services.
