This week marks one year of the start of the military wedding inspiration blog, Vows & Valor! I partnered with fellow military spouse, Katie, to create V&V after we noticed a need for a blog dedicated specifically to military weddings and marriages, and all the twists and turns that the military brings to it’s member’s families’ lives. We are so happy with the blog’s growth over the past year, and celebrated with a Navy wedding styled shoot several weeks ago! Take a look at our favorite images from the afternoon on Vows & Valor! Camp Horno Homecoming

Welcome home, Derek! Vivian waited several months for Derek’s return from a MEU, and couldn’t have been happier on the day he got back! She was all smiles all afternoon, despite Derek taking longer than anticipated to get to Camp Horno from the ship. Finally, he arrived, and everything fell perfectly into place!

Welcome Home, Jason!

Amanda and I had been in contact for months before Jason’s return. Though the USS Peliliu was scheduled to return earlier in December, the ship had a setback and its return was put on hold, without a firm return date available. Luckily, the ship pulled in right in the nick of time–on Christmas Eve!–so the Sailors on board were able to spend the holidays with their families!

Welcome Home, Ranae!

This homecoming was a little different than the usual Camp Pendleton ones, since Ranae is in the Army and is actually a reservist! She was activated for this deployment on rather short notice, leaving her wife, Jacquie, to hold down the fort while she was gone. ;) After having been gone for 251 days, Ranae was finally back in Jacquie’s arms, just in time for Christmas!

Welcome Home, Stephen!

Emily and Stephen met in Florida, though Stephen is stationed out here in San Diego. They had been dating for a while before Stephen left on a deployment. While he was gone, Emily naturally stayed in Florida, but made a trip out here for his homecoming last week! Stephen’s brother and sister-in-law live here as well, so they and their son were able to witness the homecoming. Isn’t Stephen’s nephew just the cutest?!
