When Nick left last fall, Jenifer was pregnant with their first child, and gave birth late last year. I can’t imagine how it must’ve felt for the three of them to be joined as a family for the first time, but I was happy to capture that moment for this precious family.

Welcome home to Nick and the rest of the Marines and Sailors of the 15th MEU! We’re so glad to have you back!!

Chrissie is a fellow Marine wife, a super mom, and the photographer and brains behind Bella Luce Photography. Her two boys were total hams during the session, so it was a blast!

This was my first homecoming to capture at the San Diego Airport, which was a little different than what I’m used to, but no less exciting for the families who welcomed back their loved ones that day! Jill is such a sweetheart and a total super woman, so I was ecstatic to meet her and photograph her husband’s arrival from a long deployment!

Little A wasn’t feeling well the day before Travis’ return, but had a huge smile on his face once daddy arrived! Take a look at some of my favorite images from this amazing family’s reunion.

Congratulations to Amanda and Dom on your engagement tonight! I’m so honored that I was able to capture your proposal in La Jolla with the help of the fabulous Grace of La Reine des Macarons! Grace did a superb job of finding the perfect spot for Dom, and of setting the scene with her delicious macarons! Amanda had apparently been talking about macaroons for weeks, and Dom thought it would be the perfect ending to a dinner at George’s at the Cove. Dom’s cousin, Bill, was in on the whole scheme and helped Grace along the way.

Well, I heard that Messina Hof started creating bottles to benefit the Association of Former Students, so I clearly had to stop in to see what the buzz was about! I’m glad we made the trip–I have a new favorite white, their Chenin Blanc, and the Legacy Red Blend was amazing. My parents enjoyed their wines as well! Though I could only fit two bottles in my suitcase, I’m sure I’ll be going back for more!

After we enjoyed the wine, we headed over to Alamo Springs Cafe for dinner. I love enjoying a good meal with some live music to go with it!

I was sad to leave Texas before the bluebonnets came up in force, but I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
