Though Mom had been in communication with me regarding the date for Dad’s homecoming for several weeks, she didn’t let her children know that he was on his way back until they arrived at the Motor Pool for his arrival! I have no idea how she was able to keep it a secret from them for so long, but I’m so happy that it doesn’t have to be a secret anymore! ;) Welcome back, Marines!!

Tim & Ashley – Vintage Anniversary Session at Balboa Park

Photographing this vintage-inspired anniversary session at Balboa Park was so much fun! Ashley is a local photographer and she’s been wanting to do a session like this with her husband, Tim, for a while now. These two just celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary, so it was the perfect time to create these special photos! We met up at the beautiful Museum of Man and had a wonderful time using the interesting architecture in the park as our backdrop. I photographed Tim and Ashley’s family last fall, so it was great to be able to focus on just these two for this session!

Since I’m shooting more on film these days, I decided to start a “Film Fridays” series so that I’ll (hopefully) remember to share the scans I get back. ;) Today, I’m featuring images from an amazing vintage-inspired session with Tim and Ashley! Marine Corps Homecoming at the San Diego Airport

Welcome home to this wonderful Marine and congratulations to his family on reaching the end of this deployment! Though little Q seemed more interested in the traffic outside than on giving Daddy a hug right away, soon enough she rested her head on his shoulder and simply would not let go. It was such a sweet moment, and I’m so happy to have captured it for this family!
