Baby V is one of the most precious babies I’ve met, and we got along especially well since I am also a May child. Little V was born a couple weeks ago, and I met up with Meghann and Kurt when she was just 5 days old, while her grandma was in town. Here are a handful of favorites from our session together.

I am SO excited to share these images with you from Casey and Scott’s amazingly fun wedding! These two lovebirds planned to hold their ceremony at the San Diego Botanic Garden‘s Walled Garden and their reception at one of Casey’s cousin’s house nearby in Encinitas.
I was eagerly anticipating this wedding after photographing the bride and groom’s engagement session at the garden, and was so excited when their big day arrived! Surrounded by so many loving family and friends, Casey and Scott said their vows and celebrated the night away!
Casey’s dress complimented Scott’s Marine Dress Blues perfectly, and their gorgeous ceremony ended with a saber arch! With so many of Casey and Scott’s family and friends in various military service, I don’t think it would have been possible to avoid that tradition!
After the ceremony, Scott changed into his kilt, and the decor at the reception site (including the cake and whisky!) reflected his Scottish heritage. We couldn’t resist a few fun kilt images towards the end of the night!

There are really no words to describe the joy felt when your loved one is welcomed back from a deployment to places all over the globe.
When Nick left last fall, Jenifer was pregnant with their first child, and gave birth late last year. I can’t imagine how it must’ve felt for the three of them to be joined as a family for the first time, but I was happy to capture that moment for this precious family.
Welcome home to Nick and the rest of the Marines and Sailors of the 15th MEU! We’re so glad to have you back!!

Photographing other photographers and their families can be super stressful but also incredibly rewarding. :) I joined up with a handful other local photographers to do portrait swaps, and below are some of my favorites of the session we did of the Kirk family in Old Poway Park!
Chrissie is a fellow Marine wife, a super mom, and the photographer and brains behind Bella Luce Photography. Her two boys were total hams during the session, so it was a blast!

Have I mentioned how much I love photographing homecomings for my fellow military families??
This was my first homecoming to capture at the San Diego Airport, which was a little different than what I’m used to, but no less exciting for the families who welcomed back their loved ones that day! Jill is such a sweetheart and a total super woman, so I was ecstatic to meet her and photograph her husband’s arrival from a long deployment!
Little A wasn’t feeling well the day before Travis’ return, but had a huge smile on his face once daddy arrived! Take a look at some of my favorite images from this amazing family’s reunion.
